Fold napkin in half. (For pre-folded paper napkins, unfold one fold.)
Fold back and forth in half inch (1 cm.) sections like an accordion.
Keep folding until just over half way.
Fold in half the long way so that the accordion folds are on the outside.
If the napkin does not open, it was folded in half the wrong direction in step 4, with the accordion folds on the inside instead of the outside.
fold the non-accordion end in a triangle to hold the rest in place.
Tuck the remainder under the napkin
Set the napkin on the table and let go. The pleats should fall open into a fan shape.
1. Fold the 4 corners to middle of the napkin.
2. Flip it over.
3. Fold the 4 corners to the middle again.
4. Flip it over and fold the 4 corners to the middle again.
5. Pull out the 4 corners from behind to form the petals of the flowers.
6. Hold the middle points as you pull so you don’t lose the shape of the folded napkin.
7. You can leave the flower with 4 petals like this, or you can...
8. pull the remaining 4 “petals” out from underneath , between each of the original 4 petals.
9. Put a candy cup in the middle of each flower.
Bird of Paradise Fold
1.Fold a napkin in quarters. For paper napkins (serviette), this step is done for you.
2.Turn the napkin so that the corner with all 4 layers loose (no folds) is at the top. The folded corner should be at the bottom.
3.Roll the 2 side corners to the middle, overlapping the points if necessary to fit into a glass.
4.Pull down each layer one at a time, each slightly higher than the last.
5.Leave the last peak standing straight.
NOTE: If the points of the cloth napkin do not stand up, you may need to iron it with spray starch.
Make any occasion seem special with a few clever folds of a napkin (serviette.) These instructions work with both paper and cloth napkins.
Fan Fold
Fan shaped napkins (serviettes) dress up any table, whether cloth or paper.

Simply unfold the last three folds, and fold as in step 4, but be careful to fold so that the accordion folds are on the outside.
Flower fold
Change the color to match the season. Pink can be for Valentine’s Day or Easter. Use red and green napkins to make a poinsettia for Christmas. Put a candy cup in the middle for a treat, or use fake berries to make it look more like a real flower.
Oyster fold
Fold a napkin in half to form a triangle, then in half again to form a smaller triangle. If you use a paper napkin, open to it’s full size, then proceed as above. Lay the triangle over a short glass or dessert cup. Press a Christmas ball (or Easter egg) into the middle. Pull the two side points toward the front.
Fleur-de-lis fold
Fold a napkin in half to form a triangle. If it is a large napkin, fold it in half again to form a smaller a triangle. (If it is a paper napkin, unfold to it’s full size, and fold into a triangle.) Twist both side points, and put the napkin into a short glass or dessert cup.
