Trophy Father’s Day Card
Let Dad know he is the best!
1.Flatten a toilet paper tube.
2.Cut out one side to make a trophy shape (see photo), and use that cut-out as a pattern to make an identical cut-out on the opposite side (if you cut both sides without using one as a pattern, it can end up looking lopsided.)
3.Cover the trophy with gold foil (chocolate bar wrapper) or tinfoil. Cut the foil 1-2 inches longer than the toilet paper tube on both ends.
4.Fold the paper or foil in both ends, but first, cut 4 slits in the foil-- on both sides on both ends (where the toilet paper tube has been flattened).
5.Cut the foil in the holes into pie shapes.
6.Fold the foil pie shapes inside the holes.
7.Optional: make handles for the trophy--cut 2 two inch strips, and curl both ends around a toothpick or skewer. (see photo.) If the back of the foil is a different color, cut two strips and glue the back sides together before shaping them.
Make a Frame
1.Cover a small cardboard box with colored paper.
2.Cut an “X” in the middle of the front.
3.Cut off the flaps to within 1 inch from the edge.
4. Fold these flaps inside the box to form a window, and glue in place.
5.Line the inside with colored paper.
