Sometimes you buy nativity tree ornaments, then find that they get lost on the tree.

Hanging them on a stand on a small shelf such as the top shelf in this bathroom, can be a good way to make it more visible (in person if not in this photo!)

Even if it is not a whole nativity scene, you can sprinkle bits of it around your house, like this angel on the narrow ledge under the mirror.

If you can’t find cute nativity ornaments, you can make your own.

Bathroom shelves may seem too small to bother decorating, but having Christmas decorations here and there can make the whole house feel festive. Tree ornaments can be the perfect size to fit these small spaces.

Even though this is not a breakable ornament, there are small parts that could be pulled off and possibly choked on, so it would not be appropriate to put in a toddler’s room. But it is just right as a decoration in an older child’s room where it might accidentally get knocked off of a desk or dressing table, but it won’t break.

Most tree ornaments are made to hang, so they are harder to decorate with if they are not on the tree. Stands like these are great for displaying tree ornaments off of the tree to focus attention on them. If you can’t find stands like this in stores near you, you can order them from Bronners, which has them for $2 or $3. They have a large collection of tree ornaments, too. If you are having a hard time finding a particular design, they might have just what you are looking for. I give my kids a new ornament each year, and I try to depict something that was significant about that year, but it can be tricky finding an ornament that matches, so many times I make home made ones.
