Any kind of empty cardboard box makes a great stable--just find one that is a good size for the figures. This one just happens to be a taco box. See step by step photos below.

Cut slits almost half way down on all 4 corners--measure to make sure they are all the same length, or the roof will be lopsided.

Fold one of the cut-off flaps in half to mark the middle of the box to help you fold the gable in the middle.

Fold the left side of the box in so that it comes to the middle of the top of the box, and down to the end of the cut on the side.

Fold the right side of the box the same way.

Now fold the back of the box the same way.

Cut off any excess from the folded triangles.

Bend both sides of the box onto the roof, and glue or tape in place.

If there is a hole in the roof, use one of the cut off flaps to cover the gable. Glue or tape in place.

Cut a piece of brown paper to fit (such as brown paper bag, or paper used to cover mailed packages, or butcher paper or construction paper.)

Glue the paper to the box.

Cut the 4 corners just as you did for the box.

Fold in the corners and glue to the roof.

Glue the side flaps to the roof.

Cut a strip of long paper slightly wider than the box. Fold it in half to find the middle.

Fold flaps, then glue it to the roof.

Cut the flaps to look like a thatched roof.

Cut doors in the box with a box cutter. Optional: draw boards on the box with a colored pencil or permanent marker.

Cut off the flaps.

Do the same for the back side.
