I am a mother of 3, the wife of a church planter, and although I am American, I have lived in Japan for most of my life. I homeschooled all three of our children for 8 years. For the last 20 years, I have taught craft classes, cooking classes, parenting classes, and Sunday School for children, as well as teacher training for Sunday School teachers.
As a mother, I believe our biggest job is to equip our children to become thriving adults. Of the many things we need to teach them, there is nothing more important than teaching them about God. But if we want them to hear what we are saying, we need to fit the message to the listeners--their ages, their personalities, and their learning styles. Whatever you want to teach, if you make it fun, the chances that they will pay attention greatly increase.
All that fun takes a lot of extra work, but the dividends are so amazing, that all the effort is totally worth it. So in preparation for the many classes I have taught over the past 20+ years, I have collected ideas from many sources, as well as coming up with some of my own. Whenever I find a good idea, I like to pass it on, so that as many people as possible can benefit from it. So this web site is my gift to you--many people charge money for their ideas, but I have chosen to keep this web site free. I hope you can find lots of ideas that you can use, and if you do, I hope you pass them on to other women, so they can be helped by them as well. If you have questions or suggestions, or ways you changed the ideas to fit your situation, be sure to post them on one of the forums. I am always amazed what people can do, particularly women, when they band together to accomplish a common goal. Women helping women--it’s amazing what we can do when we work together.
If you want to use any of the ideas, pictures, or content for things you do for your family, friends or ministry, please use them freely. If you want to use them on a website, please make a link to this website. If you want to publish them, or use them for profit, please ask for permission.
