1. 1.Cut one oval from stiff paper (card stock, etc.) for the sole of the shoe. (if the paper is too floppy, the shoe won’t be able to stand.)
   

2. 2.Write “Happy Mother’s Day” on the center of the sole. If you use black or dark paper to make the shoe, make sure your pen is made to show up on dark paper.
   

3. 3. Cut 2 strips--one for the toe and the other for the back of the shoe.
   

4. 4.Roll a strip of paper to form the heel and glue or tape it so the tube won’t unroll.
   

5. 5.Cut half inch slits in one end of the heel  to fasten it to the sole. Bend each of these strips out flat so the end of the tube looks sort of like a black flower.
   

6. 6.Glue these flaps or “petals” to the sole of the shoe. Or use double stick tape to fasten the heel to the sole.
   

7. 7.Fold or bend the sole of the shoe in 2 places--near the heel and near the toe.
   

8. 8.Tape or glue the two strips to the sole--one to the toe and the other to the heel.
   

9. 9.Add any decorations you like--a bow, sequins, etc.
