This is the booth where the children hear the story of the cross. They are given a nail and stamp for their passports.

The children are also given a chance to hammer a nail into a cross if they want to.

At this station, the children are told how Jesus was given a drink of vinegar from a sponge on a stick. They are given a sip of vinegar, for those who are brave enough, along with a stamp for their passports. There is also a receptacle to spit out the vinegar!

This tent was covered in leaves to make it look like Jesus’ grave. They are told the story of the resurrection, and given a stamp for their passport. They could also be given a small rock to represent the stone that was rolled away, or a strip of white cloth to represent the grave cloth that was left folded in the grave.

The final station is where they get a packet of Easter candy. The perfect ending to a great Easter celebration for kids!! Sometimes you can find chocolate crosses or fish, believe it or not, at dollar stores and Walmart. So look around, and see what you can find.

They used “Journey to the Cross” kit to get them started, but then added a lot of their own ideas to make it even better. If you are interested in seeing the starter package, look it up on the Concoradia website.
