These decorations were inspired by elements of the last supper. The bead flowers,( purchased at 100 yen stores), are combined with clusters of grapes (made from 100 yen store beads and wire). The cross is made of colored glass so that it glows in the sunlight. Any glass suncatcher in the shape of a cross, or some other object for Jesus’ last week, such as grapes, make a good window decoration that won’t block the sunlight.

If you are crafty, this resin cross could easily be imitated using an air drying modeling clay such as “Hearty.” (available in craft stores) If you don’t feel artistic, press stamps into the dough, then once it is dried, paint details in a complimentary color.

Sometimes you can find pictures in magazines or calendars that make good Easter decorations. Put them in matching frames to pull the look together. If you can’t find a good place to hang them, take down pictures you usually have hanging, and hang them in their place  for a seasonal “face lift.”

Roll the clay out between pencils or 2 equally thick objects to keep the thickness even. The pink cross used no ink on the stamp, but the white cross was stamped with a stamp that was pressed on a stamp pad before being pressed into the clay before it was dried.

Most craft stores sell all kinds of molds and gadgets for making shapes out of clay.
