Decorate a baseball cap or visor
If you can find inexpensive baseball caps or visors, this is a good craft for boys. Look in discount stores and dollar stores. You may be able to find even cheaper sources through mail order companies such as Oriental Trading Company.
.Paint a design with fabric paints
.Draw a design with permanent markers
.Cut shapes out of felt and then glue them on with fabric glue.
.Cut out shapes from EVA foam and glue them on.
.Draw a design on iron on tape, and iron it onto the cap. This can be a little bit tricky, since the cap is not a flat object. Ball up a towel to fit inside the cap, then iron over each panel. Wear an oven mitt to hold the hat to protect your hand against burns.
.Sew patches, buttons or small dangling objects to the hat.
.Make a design on the computer, print onto iron on paper, and then iron onto the cap following the package instructions (see more detailed instructions for decorating a T-shirt.) ironing the design onto a cap can be a little bit tricky, since the cap is not a flat object. Ball up a towel to fit inside the cap, then iron over each panel.
.Dip them into marbleized paint. This specialized paint is dripped on the surface of specially treated water, then swirled into a pattern with a wide toothed comb. You dip the object into the water so the paint pattern adheres to the cap. Buy marbleizing kits at a craft store.
