Accordion Fold Cards
Even though the cards pictured were all made the same way, they look totally different. So go crazy and see what designs you can come up with.
1.Cut a sheet of paper in half lengthwise.
2.Tape the two strips together end to end.
3.Fold each half in thirds so that you have 6 panels all together.
4.Cut out different sizes and colors of hearts from separate sheets of paper. If you want patterned paper, use origami, wrapping paper, or scrapbooking paper, or use stamps to create your own patterned paper. Save time by cutting 3-4 sheets at once. The third card down has hand drawn background details for a totally different look from the other cards.
5.Arrange each panel with a different design.
6.Glue on the hearts.
7.Write your message on the back of the panels.
These cards are long and narrow, so they can dress up the top of a T.V., windowsills, or bookshelves.
Make the design go vertically to decorate tall narrow spaces such as a door, cupboard, or refrigerator.
Use 3 or 4 panels as a stand up decoration, or wrap it around a votive candle that is in a glass votive candle holder--just be sure it doesn’t touch the glass if it gets hot, or use an electric tea light.
